Next November, KadouEvents will host a Magic Spotlight Series tournament in Beijing, China. The event, themed #Magic Spotlight: Fracture, will have open registration, feature a $50,000 prize pool, and award 8 invitations to the Pro Tour.
The tournament will span two days. Saturday will consist of 9 rounds of Swiss. Players with 18 or more match points will advance to Sunday's competition. Sunday will feature another 6 rounds of Swiss, after which the Top 8 players will advance to a single-elimination playoff to determine the ultimate champion! Additionally, a variety of side events will be available on Friday!
Marking this important occasion, we are also breaking from convention to simultaneously announce the host cities for next year's three Regional Championships:
Season 11 Regional Championship: Changsha
Season 12 Regional Championship: Chengdu
Season 13 Regional Championship: Shanghai
The new Spotlight Series has already held six international events: Atlanta, USA (1,453 players); Utrecht, Netherlands (1,590 players); Denver, USA (1,219 players); Indianapolis, USA (682 players); Chiba, Japan (2,265 players); and Orlando, USA (674 players). Two more events are scheduled for this year, in Baltimore and Liverpool.
